I’ve always found Leap Days to be interesting due to the fact that they only occur once every 4 years. I like to take this day and use it to reflect on progress made from last Leap Day. I don’t just mean my own progress, but the progress we’ve made as a society. On February 29th of 2020, COVID-19 was beginning to rapidly spread across North America, and around this time was when a lot of places such as Schools, Public Parks, Libraries, Restaurants, anything really where a lot of people would usually be, just shut down. Life, as we knew it was put on pause.
Even though a lot has happened since COVID, I still feel as it has just started a couple weeks ago. But alas, my perception of time has sort-of been a non-linear accumulation kind of like a blob. Leap day is the day that the cumulative 1/4 day each year is “cleaned” by combining it into one additional day every 4 years. Conclusively, Happy Leap Day!
