There is a timid man who spends his creativity solo developing complex yet simple games on a platform with a rudimentary engine and provided servers. His works are moderately successful and he maintains a respectable following, however his inner circle tends to differ. Surrounding himself with loyal, emotionally vulnerable sycophants, forming an exclusive club to stem his sense of superiority. They provide a false sense of elitism and reassure all this man’s egotistic tendencies. All effort made to encourage a realization, is met with preemptive deflection or ignorance. It can’t be true if he doesn’t acknowledge it. If he were to even devote a portion of his philosophical mind to reflecting over this, that would be absurd. There is no doubt that the candidacy of this fruition is inevitable, whether it’s conscious or not. Sooner rather than later he may be influenced or even triggered to think this thought. Regrettably, the feasibility of that is begrudgingly low. He can see through subtlety and past the realm of psychological examination in order to deploy his mental defenses and delay it to the fullest possible extent.
But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.
2 Timothy 3
